B. Costello Design & Consulting, LLC is a firm dedicated to the creation of distinct, enlightening and sustainable environments. Each project is approached as a unique challenge, with design solutions of the highest aesthetic caliber, inspired by place, site and inhabitants.
The pairing of creative design and smartly crafted dwellings is based on an inquisitive mindset and years of experience. Every new endeavor invites an enthusiastic and open dialog between designer and client and between the contractor and the skilled artisans involved in bringing each design to life.
From conception to completion, the design process is facilitated dynamically, with an open mind and a sense of humor.
Bernie Costello is the founder and principal of BcDc.
Born in New York City, Bernie grew up absorbing the urban landscape of the greater New York area, including the industrial surroundings of his childhood in northern New Jersey. On his fourteenth birthday, he received a sledgehammer adorned with a red bow as a not-so-subtle hint of what lay ahead, experiencing the world of construction firsthand.
Bernie received his Bachelor of Architecture Degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology and immediately dove into to the design-build arena. A trip westward landed him in Denver. He was enticed by the city and has called the city his home. In that time, Bernie has been an active architectural design and construction professional in Colorado, and a passionate advocate for urban infill and sustainable building practices. His work focuses on affordable and distinctive design solutions and has been recognized with numerous local and national awards.
Bernie is a master of the lost art form of parallel parking, believes Tina Weymouth is the most underrated musician of a generation, and can exist easily with a supply of fine point sharpies, a sketchpad and coffee.
